Shaving vs waxing

Always has been divided on which is a better hair-removal option for women

Most women are confused which one to opt for. While waxing is considered to be better, you must keep in mind your skin type, hair texture and hair growth before making a decision. If you have sensitive skin, use a razor, as waxing may aggravate the rashes. If you have normal skin, go in for a wax.

Beauty mistakes turn men

Layers of makeup Heavy, cakey foundation is something that men notice right away. Use a light tinted moisturiser and go easy on concealers. Nothing can beat the appeal of natural radiance. Spidery eyelashes Lumpy extra-coated lashes and falsies can give you that trying-too-hard look. Use an eyelash curler and light mascara. Flaky, dry skin Smooth, well-waxed legs and arms spell sexy. Stay away from stubble on your legs, dry and rough knees, flaky skin and chapped lips. Massage a nourishing moisturising lotion daily.
Overloaded hair Soft, wavy hair has a timeless appeal. Product load can make them unnatural and stiff. Go easy on gels and sprays. Shiny sticky lip gloss Kissable — that is how lips should be, no? A subtle pinkish sheen is great. Sticky lip-gloss can be unappealing, with flyaway hair sticking to it.

Dark lipstick Yes, a red pout might have that 'come hither' effect, but it can also be a turn-off for some. Lips with light, neutral hues work best. Choose nudes and pinks. Unappealing yellowing teeth This can be a big put-off. The first thing someone notices about you is your smile, so make sure your teeth are white. Dental health should be an important part of your hygiene.

Winter Skin Care Advice

These are some of the issues usually faced by a majority of people during winters. Thus, even your skin care regime should also be as per the needs of your skin. And if you don’t know how you can do so, then here are some amazing tips for different skin types to save the grace of your skin during this winter season.

1.  Dry Skin
Dry skin tends to get even drier during winters. If not treated properly, it shows the signs of flakiness, cracks, etc. To combat these signs, start your morning skin care regime by washing your face with a moisturising and non-foaming cleanser, as the one that gives out foam is drying in nature. Avoid toners during this season and soothe your skin by applying rose water instead. Then, use a moisturising cream of a good brand that suits you, to nourish your skin from deep within. Also, don’t forget to dab some sunscreen lotion with SPF 15-25 whenever you step outside.

2.   Oily Skin
Winters come easy for people with oily skin as they enjoy a normal skin in this season. The only task remains for you is to find out the best water-based moisturising lotion. Just make sure to moisturise your face after every face washing routine, to maintain a balance of the oil level on your face. Make a weekly ritual to use a nice exfoliating gel that has minute granules enriched with vitamin E. Though, it is important to exfoliate, never be too harsh on your skin and apply a soothing mask after every exfoliation. Avoid bathing in extremely hot water as it can worsen the problem of acne for people with oily skin.

3.  Normal Skin
Normal skin tends to get dry in winter season and hence, demands extra care. But, you need not worry, as by simply swapping you regular beauty regime with a skin regime for the dry skin can make things simpler for you. Likewise, use a mild face wash with creamy texture followed by applying a moisture-rich cream. Munch a few nuts on regular intervals to ensure the intake of vitamin E in your body to keep the skin well-nourished.

4.  Combination Skin
Therefore, it is necessary to treat these specific parts differently. You may merge the above skin care rituals of dry and oily skin, and use it in your favour. Use a moisturising face wash all over the face apart from your T-zone and apply rose water on that area. Slather some water-based moisturiser on your T-zone and use a moisturising cream for the rest of the part of your face. Try to drink at least eight to ten glasses of water daily. It will help keep your skin hydrated and supple while flushing out the harmful toxins from your body.

5.  Sensitive Skin
Avoid any cosmetic product that contains and go for medicated products instead. Choose products designed for sensitive skin to avoid any kind of allergies and reactions. Always check the ingredient list before buying any new product. If possible, then also do a patch-test on the skin of your wrist or behind your ears.

To Enhance Your Beauty Easy and Amazing

 Oil and Acne Free skin

1 egg white1 tsp. of fresh lemon juice½ tsp. of honey.
Now, mix the egg white and lemon juice together until the mixture becomes frothy. After that, add honey in the mixture, if you want. Apply it on your face. Leave the mask for 10-15 minutes till it dries completely. Then gently scrub it off with lukewarm water.
Egg will help in tightening and toning your skin, as well as shrinking the large skin pores. Lemon juice is a powerful astringent, which will fight off acne causing bacteria, lighten skin tone and reduce discoloration. Honey, on the other hand, acts as a moisturiser for your skin and its antiseptic and antibacterial properties will also help in reducing the inflammation.

Hair spa treatment

During our daily routine, our hair is often subjected to unfavourable environmental conditions and chemicals. Over exposure to the sun or humid weather, chlorinated water and unnecessary exposure to heated styling appliances cause excessive damage to the hair. This means, you need timely hair treatments for damage control and to
help restore the lost nutrients. Here are hair spa treatments you could opt for each of your hair problems:

Power protein does hair spa
If you’ve had enough of dry and unmanageable frizzy hair, this type of hair spa treatment is ideal. It helps in healthy hair growth and helps regain its lost lustre. The number of sessions for this treatment depend on how damaged and dry your hair are.

 Keratin treatment

This treatment is often associated with straightening or rebonding. However it is meant to tame down unruly curls and soften them. Your hair is shampooed and blow-dried, after which the solution is applied with a brush and combed through the hair, and left for 20 minutes. Hair is then blow-dried once more and flat ironed. Says celebrity hairstylist Vikas Marwah says, ‘This hair treatment leaves the hair with a gloss effect and straightens it up to 50%. You will see your hair soft and smooth within one session, lasting you for at least 3-4 months. Also, you should use a sulfate free shampoo, so this treatment lasts you longer.’ Know how effective it is here.

Moroccan Oil Treatment
This hair treatment is a favourite of many. Coming from argan oil, it is non- greasy and comes to the rescue for dry and damaged hair. You could also pick up a bottle of Moroccan oil and massage your hair and scalp at home.

Hair Fall

Ozone, high frequency hair spa treatment
This hair treatment helps eradicate dry skin cells from the scalp and increases the blood circulation. Hence, this helps in strengthening the hair follicles and  increases hair growth. This is a multi-functional hair treatment as it also curbs excessive dandruff. Vikas says, ‘If you are suffering from a severe hair fall problem, it is best to stick to a mild
shampoo and keep away from chemical based ones. Or you could mix some water with your shampoo for a lighter consistency.’

 Dandruff

 Refining hair spa
Having an itchy and flaky scalp is a very common hair problem and a regular hair spa treatment could definitely give you some relief from it. Vikas says, ‘This spa includes fusing in  an ‘m-fule’ pill to clear off the dandruff completely. The sessions, again depend on how dry and how severe your dandruff problem is.’ It helps your hair rejuvenate and relieves the scalp of the dryness and irritation caused.

Turmeric for a Flawless Skin

SIGNS OF AGEING
Turmeric is an excellent exfoliating agent and can help you defeat the signs of ageing. Takebesan (gram flour) and turmeric powder in equal proportions and prepare a paste by adding water. You may alternately prepare this paste in raw milk or even yoghurt. Apply it evenly on your body and leave it till it dries off. Wash it off with lukewarm water and scrub your face gently in circular motion.

WRINKLES
You can use turmeric in combination with other ingredients to manage your wrinkle woes.

    # Add raw milk and tomato juice to rice powder and turmeric powder. Apply the paste and  let it stay until it dries. Lactic acid present in milk will help peel off the dead skin cells.
   # You can add turmeric powder in buttermilk and sugarcane juice. This will work the best  for dark circles and wrinkles.
   # Turmeric-honey paste can be applied on the face and neck to help exfoliate skin and keep  a check on pores.

 ACNE

     # To prepare turmeric scrub, add a few drops of water and lemon juice to turmeric powder.  Apply the paste on the acne affected area and leave it for about 15 minutes. Gently scrub  it off your face with plain water.
    # You can also use turmeric and sandalwood mixture as an acne face pack and wash it off  in approximately 10 minutes.
    # For acne scars, dab a mixture of turmeric and plain water and leave it on the marks for 15 minutes.
   # To control oil secretion, prepare a paste of sandalwood powder and ground turmeric with orange juice. Leave the paste on your face for 10 minutes and rinse it with lukewarm water.

BURNS
In case you accidently burn your skin you can turn to turmeric for quick relief owing to its antiseptic properties. Prepare a mixture of turmeric and aloe vera gel. Apply it on the burn and notice how it heals the wound in no time.

FACIAL HAIR
Chickpea flour (sattu) or gram flour added to kasturi turmeric can be used as a facial scrub to inhibit hair growth. Be sure to apply this paste for about a month to notice results. Home remedies usually show results over a period of time upon consistent use.
